Open Revit and load your project. On the MotionSite tab, click Length Optimizer in the Modeling Tools panel. The tool dialog appears, ready in the active view.
Tap one of four chips — PIPE, DUCT, CONDUIT, CABLE TRAY. The status bar updates live with the count of that element type in the active view. Selection persists between launches.
Hit the dark ⌖ HIGHLIGHT button in the footer. Elements whose length isn't a whole inch turn solid gray in the active view; the rest have their overrides cleared. A task dialog reports counts.
Click the orange-outlined ADJUST LENGTH card in the dialog. Pick any element near the endpoint you want to keep — a small input dialog opens with the current length displayed. Type the target value and confirm.
Type 4 for 4', 2 6 for 2'-6", 0 11 1/2 for 11½", or prefix with = for math like =1 6"/2.
The tool stays active so you can chain edits. Press ESC to skip an element; ESC ESC within half a second to exit. All edits are single-transaction and undoable.

An element is "non-integer" if its length is more than one-hundredth of an inch off a whole number. Rounding artifacts from Revit's internal precision don't trigger the highlight.
Whichever endpoint your click was closest to becomes the FIXED anchor. The far end moves to meet the new length — along with any connected fitting, equipment, or downstream run.
Length Optimizer ships as a bundled MSI package. Run the installer — the add-in registers itself for every supported Revit version on your machine, no manual file copying or config edits required.
Obtain the latest PipeLengthOptimizer-Setup.msi from your Motion-Site distribution package.
Double-click the MSI and follow the prompts. The installer detects your Revit version and drops the matching DLL into the right add-ins folder — the 2022-2024 build for Revit 2022/2023/2024, and the 2025 build for Revit 2025+.
Open any Revit project. The MotionSite tab appears in the ribbon — click Length Optimizer in the Modeling Tools panel to open the dialog.
